Tomato Information and Tips
We all may pronounce these delicious fruits differently but however you pronounce it, they enrich our tables or our health. Keep tomatoes at room temperature. Do not refrigerate, as it will make the tomatoes mealy and flavorless. Cut tomatoes and mix with balsamic dressing or slice tomatoes and serve with fresh mozzarella.
Cherokee Purple-An heirloom tomato. Cherokee Purple seeds, originating from Tennessee, are thought to have been passed down from Native Americans of the Cherokee tribe. Golden Nugget Tomato – A lovely early cherry tomato, Gold Nugget’s bright yellow, ping-pong ball sized fruit grows prolifically in clusters. It’s vines continue to produce in high nighttime temperatures making it a good selection for hot climates.
Juliet Tomatoes-Slightly larger than the well-known Santa grape tomato, Juliet bears delicious, sweet fruit on indeterminate vines. Some gardeners refer to it as a mini Roma because of the shape. Sun Gold Cherry Tomatoes-Exceptionally sweet, bright tangerine-orange cherry tomatoes leave customers begging for more. Vigorous plants start yielding early and bear right through the season. Tendency to split precludes shipping, making these an exclusively fresh-market treat. The taste can’t be beat. Many people compare it to eating candy.
